Coaches Meg Mackenzie and James “Monty” Montgomery are two people that you want in your corner when it comes to your running career. Prior to the start of this year my approach to running/training was simple – all out all the time.
I mean this is how you get stronger, faster, and better right? Wrong.
It did not take long for me to ask James to coach me, after a lengthy session of questions and goals etc. I started my new journey. This would entail disciplined focus on training to heart rate, consistent good sleep, changing my diet (This was a massive challenge which to date James has won the challenge hands down!!!) and having fun doing all this.
Meg and James, there is no way we could have done that without you [UTCT 65km]. I never in my wildest dreams thought I could do it. Still trying to take it all in and remember how it all went down. It was just such an amazing day and we felt so good doing it, I am so grateful for that. You have something special going with the Run Project, your approach to training and life has taught me so much. Thank you for the time and effort you put into getting our mind and bodies ready. It made our race even more special knowing that we had made good friends in you guys as well.
